BA, Social Science, Clark College, Atlanta, Georgia, 1952; played flute and piccolo in College Band under direction of father, Wayman A. Carver. MA, Political Science, Boston University, 1952; Education
Specialist  Degree, Political Science, Georgia State University, 1978.

Profession:  Teacher—Professor of History and Political Science, Texas College, Tyler Texas, 1955; Public school teacher, Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton County School  System 30 years;  retired from  Fulton County School  System, 1986; Substitute teacher, DeKalb County School System, Georgia, 10 years; Real estate agent, 13 years, now retired.

Civic  Duties: Past member (6 years) –DeKalb County Board Of  Equalization ( A Property Tax  Review Board )

Church  Affiliation:  Cathedral  Of  The  Holy  Spirit,  Decatur, Georgia  (flute player in Cathedral  Orchestra).

Social  Organizations:  Delta  Sigma  Theta  Sorority, G.T.G’s Social and Civic Club, Birthday Party Bridge Club, East Metro Duplicate Bridge Club, Chairperson, History/Archives Committee of the American Bridge Association; National Scrabble Association.

Hobbies:  Bridge, ( Bridge Instructor) ;  Scrabble  (Tournament Scrabble) Music  (Flute,  Piano,  collector  of CD’s of Blues , and  Rhythm and Blues vocalists of the 30’s-60’s  )

Family:   Husband (deceased, 1999 ) Weyman Shepherd Turner; Son, Weyman Solomon  Turner, Sr. ;  five grand-children; seven great-grand children (2005).
